Rendered Fits for footwear

Virtual Try-On for Footwear & Shoe Brands on Shopify

Shoes are judged on size, width and instep, and on how they look with an outfit. Sizing varies between lasts and between brands, so shoppers are unsure whether to take their usual size, and half sizes and width make it harder. Appearance matters too: shoppers want to see how a style looks worn.

Rendered Fits' size recommendation is built for garments, so sizing support for shoes depends on having usable size data and should not replace a foot-measurement guide. The relevant function for footwear is try-on imagery, a visual preview of how a style looks on the shopper, which does not establish physical fit.

What to measure

Nothing here is a guaranteed result. Measure it on your own store before rolling it out wider.

How it works

Install Rendered Fits from the Shopify App Store and choose which products show the “Try it on” button from the app dashboard. Keep your size guide and fit notes (runs small, wide fit) on the product page.

Try it on your own products

Start with a few styles where appearance is the main hesitation, such as boots or statement trainers, and compare appearance-related returns on those against similar styles. Try-on images are a visual preview and do not establish physical fit.

Frequently asked questions

Does virtual try-on work for footwear and shoes?

Try-on imagery applies: it shows how a style looks on the shopper. Rendered Fits' size recommendation is built for garments, so shoe sizing support depends on usable size data, and the image does not establish physical fit.

Can Rendered Fits recommend a shoe size?

Not as a substitute for a foot-measurement guide. The size recommendation is built for garments, and support for shoes depends on having usable size data. Keep fit notes such as 'runs small' on the product page.

Do I need to re-shoot my footwear photos?

No. Rendered Fits works from your existing product images, so no new shoot, 3D asset or developer is required.

How much does Rendered Fits cost for footwear brands?

Rendered Fits has three plans. Free is $0 for one selected product with 5 images per monthly allowance period. Complete is $349/month with 1,000 Try-ons per paid cycle and a 14-day trial with 50 images total. Enterprise is $999/month with 5,000 images and no trial. Optional extra images cost $0.50 on Complete or $0.35 on Enterprise, off by default and subject to a merchant-approved cap. Existing merchants keep their agreed prices, allowances and trial dates, including at renewal. No automatic migration. A replacement plan takes effect only after the merchant approves it in Shopify.
