How a complete outfit journey works

1. Start with the product

A shopper opens a participating product page. The garment they are viewing provides the starting point for the look.

2. Discover matching pieces

Outfit suggestions draw from products the store already sells. Shoppers can review each piece instead of being sent to a separate styling tool.

3. Choose and check

The shopper can assess sizes item by item, add a piece or the outfit to the cart, and use virtual try-on for an appearance preview where supported.

Actual availability depends on the enabled app version, the merchant's plan and usable catalogue data. Watch the product demonstration, then test the current workflow on your own products before promising it to shoppers.

One outfit can need several sizes

A shopper may need a different size in a jacket, trousers and top. Outfit building should preserve each selected Shopify variant rather than applying one size label to the whole look. Rendered Fits is designed to give product-specific guidance using the shopper's details and available size information.

A generated image is a visual preview. It cannot prove how a waistband, shoulder or sleeve will fit. Keep your size chart accessible, check measurement units and review recommendations on real garments. Our Shopify sizing guide explains the inputs and limitations.

What to check before enabling outfits

  1. Catalogue relevance. Start with products that really belong together. Check colour, category, stock and whether a suggestion fits your brand's styling rules.
  2. Variants and availability. Try a shopper who needs different sizes in each item. Confirm each chosen variant and sold-out state survive all the way to cart.
  3. Image quality. Use clear product imagery and check a whole-outfit preview against the garments. Explain that AI-generated appearance is illustrative.
  4. Mobile journey. Test product discovery, sizing, try-on and cart on a phone as well as desktop. Note where shoppers leave the flow.
  5. Measurement. Record outfit suggestions shown, pieces selected, cart adds and orders separately. A purchase does not by itself prove that a recommendation caused extra revenue or reduced returns.

Questions fashion merchants ask

Is Complete the Look the same as a product recommendation carousel?

A carousel usually points to related products. Complete the Look is intended to keep product discovery, per-item size decisions, whole-outfit visualisation and cart choices in one journey. Check the enabled workflow on your store before launch.

Can a shopper buy only one piece?

The planned shopper journey supports individual-item and whole-outfit cart choices. Confirm the current app version, plan and theme integration before enabling this on your catalogue.

Will outfit suggestions increase average order value?

They create an opportunity to explore more products, but no uplift is guaranteed. Compare mature orders from comparable shopper journeys and report the sample size and method. See our measurement guide.

Evaluate it on your own collection

Start with a small group of products, confirm current feature availability and test each size and cart choice before a wider rollout.
