How these guides are made
Every figure comes from the tables in our converter, compiled on 29 September 2026 from retailer and brand size guides including Next, John Lewis, ASOS, Marks & Spencer, Nordstrom, Clarks, Dr. Martens and Nike. A value appears only where at least two sources support it. Where they disagree, the guide shows a range or says so.

A note for merchants
Shoppers search for conversions because a single size label does not tell them how a garment will fit. If you sell clothes online, publish a size chart in centimetres for each product, say whether it shows body or garment measurements, and add a short fit note. A free size chart template is a quick place to start. On Shopify, Rendered Fits recommends a size for each product from your own size chart, so shoppers do not need a converter; there is a Free plan.

Are clothing size conversions accurate?
They are approximate. Brands cut and grade differently, labels shift over time and stretch changes fit. Use a conversion to shortlist a size, then compare your measurements in centimetres with the brand’s size chart.
What is a UK size 12 in US and EU sizes?
A UK women’s 12 is usually a US 8 and an EU 40.
What is a US men’s 10 shoe in UK sizes?
A US men’s 10 is usually a UK 9.
